What do YOU think of when you envision your perfect bedroom? Personally, I want a room that is cozy and a bed so fluffy that I’ll never want to get up. Below, you’ll see my Tennessee version of that. :)
My parents recently moved to Franklin, TN (just outside of Nashville) for my Dad’s job. I have to admit, at first it was tough for me to come to grips with the thought of us being so far apart as Cory and I continue to bury our roots here in Texas. But, Franklin quickly grew on me. It is such a charming town with SO much character, and is seen as a destination stop to many that come to Nashville. Now, every time I go visit my parents I feel like I’m visiting a little piece of heaven. I spent the first week of July there and spent a lot of time helping my mom decorate their new home. Lucky for me, one of the projects we worked on was my bedroom.
(**Side note – SO much of the love for design that I have I get from my mom. She has an incredible eye for placement of decor in a room, she knows how to create a room that “flows”, and she is constantly teaching me tips and tricks of interior design. Most of the time she doesn’t give herself enough credit, but she ROCKS at it. Shout out to my mama, I love you!)
I wanted to create a room that had the cozy, peaceful feel I love, but also included some decor accents that were unique to Nashville. One of my favorite parts of the room? The angel (pictured below) from Nashville designer Deann Art. I wish I could bring her entire gallery of artwork home with me!
Together, my mom and I ran around to every HomeGoods in the Nashville area, as well as all of our favorite design boutiques, and my room slowly came together. It truly is a room for my soul to rest, and also gives me another reason to visit my parents as much as I can. Next up, our master here in Houston. See below for resources!
